A crazy night

a
People that know Mark know how much he loves his job. Everyday he has something new, and well he loves to drive fast. Lastnight was another reason (besides the paperwork) that he loves going to work everyday.

Citrus Ballon Festival

Friday night while waiting for Ashley and Santiago to come, we went to the Santa Paula airport for the First Hot Air Ballon Festival. It was really neat. Once it started to get dark, they aired up like 15 of the hot air ballons. They had so many different shapes and animals, and it was really neat because you got to sit right next to them as they were aired up. They also had fun music to listen to that got the kids dancing while they waited for all the ballons. Once they aired up all of the ballons they did a little light show. It made them look so neat and the kids really enjoyed it. This awesome picture was taken with Marks phone

New visitor

We were so excited to have Ashley, Santiago and Isaiah come visit last weekend. Ashley and Santiago went to six flags on Sat and asked us to watch Isaiah. We were thrilled. We havent been able to spend much time with him since we moved. He was so much fun and Kaelyn and Enzo couldnt get enough of him. Enzo made sure Isaiah followed him everywhere he went, and then in the middle of playing, Enzo would walk over to Isaiah and give him a big hug! It was fun to watch them. One time I walked into the kitchen to find both boys hiding in the cupboard. If we are able to move back, it will be fun to get the kids together more!

Santa Paulas Citrus Festival

Santa Paula is known for its oranges and Lemons. Every year they have a Citrus Parade and festival. We were able to go since Mark now works later afternoon. We had a blast! It was Enzo's first parade, and he loved it. He loved seeing the airplanes flying above, and all the loud noises. Their was an elderly woman sitting next to us on the curb. Enzo enjoyed walking over to her and pointing and saying what things where as they passed by. Our ward had a really cute float in the parade too!!!

Our Week visiting

Last Thursday Mark and I headed up to Sacramento for Nicks graduation. It was so exciting to be there, and it brought back fun memories for us. Mark was able to take 8 days off, so after the graduation we headed back to Madera after picking up the kids. During the week we hung out with all the family and had a blast. We watched old family videos, swam at Ashleys, and just hung out. We sure do miss everyone!

4th of July weekend

Our exciting holiday started on Thursday this year because that was Marks only day off and we wanted to do something special. We loaded our bikes up on our bike rack and drove to Ojai which is around 20 mins away. They have a bike trail that goes from the beach all the way into Ojai. I think if you do it all its close to 16 miles. We packed lots of goodies and water and started 2 miles from the beach. After riding for 4 miles all of a sudden I noticed my back tire was flat. We were both dissapointed because we had forgotten our spare tube and pump and we wanted to continue... Mark had made sure the tires were aired up before we left. While we were headed back a nice couple that had a pump in their bag pumped up my bike and made it possible for me to ride my bike the last mile. While the couple was helping us the lady made a comment to me that has been staying in my mind since. She said that they do this trail at least once a week and everytime they have ether stopped for a break, or stopped because something was wrong with their bike, someone has stopped to help them and she was happy to have a chance to help someone this time. Mark and I have been so blessed by others while we have been away. Whenever something has happened and we needed help, the Lord has always provided what we needed. Even if it was only a mile to our car and it really wouldn't have made a difference, Its the little reminder that we are being watched over and Im so grateful for it!

Shortly after we got home, Cheryl and Anna (Marks mom and sister) came over to celebrate the 4th with us. That night we went out to dinner to a really good tepan-yaki (sp??) place and then Friday morning Mark and Anna went wakeboarding with Uncle Roger and the family. I was really tired and I couldnt get up at 6 in the morning to go. I thought it would be way to cold. They had a blast and got back around 11 and then we went shopping for the good 4th of July sales! After being exhausted from shopping we went to Aunt Tannies for a great barbeque and had a blast watching the girls sing High School Musical songs. Then last but not least we all packed up and went to the their Pharmacy and relaxed for the firework show. They do fireworks at the Junior college in Ventura and that just happened to be right behind their store. It was amazing!!!! It was the best firework show that I think I have ever seen. We were so close. Yes dad they did scare me... and I was holding on to Cheryl the whole time. Kaelyn was scared too until I put her in the car and then she loved them. Enzo was fine being held by Grandma if we were not as close. Mark was able to stop for a few mins and then needed to head back to his area, it was a busy night for him, he hooked 2 drunk drivers. We all had a lot of fun and Im glad we were able to share it with family!
